Maybe a Bird 01:41
when i die i may try to find you be forewarned i may be a bird or a boy born poor or made in a country planes won’t travel and not see you anymore comin’ around again will you know me ? and see who i am? there in the lines of gesture and face there in the words... there in the words... when i die i may try to find you i’m letting you know i may be a bird or a boy born poor or made in a country planes won’t travel and not see you anymore

i am a place you can still get to with your body and my here coordinates my mind keeps my corporal self subordinate in answer it withers away… and i was a room and i had thick walls kicking them in till everything falls they’re fixing me up as i wander the halls oh will i be back here again ? and i die and i die, discarding my skulls crushed into powder and spun into bowls made into mortar for plugging up holes content to reform and to break again i die and i die, sloughing off cells sea creatures crawl from out crowded shells clappers fall out from big, rusty bells everything spends out its day and then its content will reform until it breaks again
3.
Draw Me Out 03:33
you draw me out draw me up out like a splinter from my own life and i come as i was as i would be from a glad, untroubled mind lifted up learn to say what you need there is relief in letting somebody know desires held too close within, grown dim will delight in being shown live your dreams beyond your measure wading through shores of shame into waves of pleasure rise from sleep now greet the day by grace of the sun grow in green from the grey cornsilk kisses brushing my face you draw me out draw me up out like a splinter from my own life and i come as i was as i would be from a glad, untroubled mind

do what you do—i don’t mind i’m not afraid to be kind i follow through and i find i’m not afraid to be kind do what you do—you are you though if you’re scared, be prepared that here that fear won’t be shared one must be brave to unwind and i’m not afraid to be kind do i know? yes, i do how pain follows you when you won’t give in to gentler ways shown to you swing like a door, really wide past yourself, flow outside what frames you hanged in your mind that kept you safe for a time yet so afraid to be kind so do what you do—i don’t mind i’m not afraid to be kind i follow through and i find i’m not afraid to be kind do what you do—you are you though if you’re scared, be prepared that here that fear won’t be shared one must be brave to unwind this dull place will be shined unafraid to be kind

hi i just got awake open to life of a new kind hi i’d been away i worked hard to lay off freak guards-of-mind woe wore me down tore my gown new life flows growin’ out my beard wire-y down flame that shows why feel alone? oh, why feel alone? hi i’d been away i worked hard to lay off freak guards-of-mind... who rang? it’s your ride waits outside come out home dang/dank, cold and queer in your house come out, homebody why feel alone? oh, why feel alone? why feel alone? hey, why feel alone?

Trophies 03:03
i went to the warehouse to trade in my trophies they scratch off the name and they buff up the plates and then put the blank bodies back up in the window awaiting engraving of winners and dates it’s so nice to see you hey...hey, don’t i know you? tender green shoots of you grow through the yard medals hung heavy my neck wouldn’t let me so i gave ‘em up good though the giving was hard i went to the warehouse to trade in my trophies trumpets and ribbons my trove and its trimmings and it’s so nice to see you! hey...hey, don’t i know you? how good it feels here in this place pass up the goal for the view now something opens up i take in space
7.
Heartloose 02:18
somethin’ loosened around my heart from where it was bound it fluttered around this funny motion first mistaken as attack i realize and step back with real eyes i step back and let it happen knitted so snug inside my chest iron lungs, ribs as rungs those who care to try and climb me sometimes say it’s hard to find me still in reflex i would shout when i began spilling out weeping clearly as a blister ‘hey i’m here’, you almost missed her and i have so much for you! do you know how i get shy to show you i fill up, tender with a glow fluff and puff as i try to show you display my falling feathers as they leave me in this weather...

Sara 04:07
broad spirit comes back along the way comes to me red, black with a lot to say she sit my tail down pull the wishbone wide she ream my head out along the way she dig my hole, then, she toss me in her dirt rain/reign dark down my falling/fallen skin stripped so lonely i can’t even cry i lay my head down along the way Sara, Kali, Ereshkigal, Sara Sara, Kali, Ereshkigal, Sara broad spirit comes back she lay me out flat she pin my tail down pull the wishbone wide she ream my head out her dirt rain/reign dark down can’t even cry... can’t even cry...

about

Boneset is comprised of songs written years ago and just recently. They laid out best in near-chronological order. Dark to light to dark, the album overends as a Mobius strip, its songs seeded with connection and release, overcoming fear with heart...birds, bones, surrender.

I write songs with the intention that there's space within them for you to enter and discover and receive. Willkommen! I love doing this work.
